Monterrey -- the Capital of Nuevo Leon

Monterrey, also known as the Sultan of the North, is the capital city of the state of Nuevo León. Monterrey serves as the most important commercial center in the north of the country, being base to many important corporations. It is one of Mexico's most developed cities with one of the highest per capita incomes in the nation.

Monterrey is connected with the USA border, the sea and inland Mexico through a high quality road network. There are two international airports and several between-cities bus lines with frequent arrivals and departures into deeper Mexico, to the U.S. border and into the United States. Monterrey is a modern, well-planned city that is easy to navigate.

Monterrey is full of cultural offerings and top rated services: hotels and restaurants, nightclubs, shopping centers, theaters, museums and cultural centers. The local culinary delicacies include cabrito (kid goat cooked on embers), semita (bread without leavening), and carne asada (grilled beef served with onions and tortillas), a tradition Monterrey shares with Hermosillo. Monterrey has also been known for música Norteña which is the trademark music of the city.
